Order A Storm Drain Marker

Only Rain Down the Storm Drain

stormwater marker decal

Storm drains directly affect our waterways, making it crucial that people understand how the storm drainage system functions and that only rain goes down the storm drain.

By marking your local storm drains you share the knowledge of stormwater pollution and help keep our water clean for all!

How to Mark Storm Drains

  1. Make sure you have all your equipment.
    • Decals and double-sided stick pads
    • Broom or wire brush to clean sidewalk or curb
    • Camera to take a photo
  2. Select a flat portion of the storm box or curb; determine where the decal will be most visible.
  3. Scrub the top of storm box/curb with broom/brush until no dirt or debris are left.
  4. Peel one side of the sticky pad off and CENTER it on the decal.
  5. Peel off the other side and stick the decal firmly to the storm box.
  6. Apply pressure by stepping on the decal to secure it (Count to 10 Mississippi).
  7. Congratulations! You have made an important contribution to keeping our streams healthy and clean.
  8. Report the location of the storm drain marker, so that we can update our database.
