The National Weather Service St. Louis office has issued a Moderate Risk for severe weather across our region late this afternoon and evening. A fast-moving line of storms is expected, with the primary threat being damaging straight-line winds that could exceed 80 mph. Large hail and strong tornadoes (EF2+) are also possible.

The National Weather Service St. Louis office has issued a Moderate Risk for severe weather across our region late this afternoon and evening. The Boone County Office of Emergency Management (BCOEM) has announced that today's scheduled outdoor warning siren test is canceled due to a High Wind Warning issued by the National Weather Service. Although originally planned as part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week, BCOEM opted to cancel the test out of an abundance of caution. The next scheduled siren test will take place on April 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

The Boone County Office of Emergency Management (BCOEM) has announced that today's scheduled outdoor warning siren test is canceled due to a High Wind Warning issued by the National Weather Service. Although originally planned as part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week, BCOEM opted to cancel the test out of an abundance of caution. The next scheduled siren test will take place on April 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

The National Weather Service and the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency have designated March 3-7, 2025, as Severe Weather Preparedness Week. BCOEM will take part in the Annual Statewide Tornado Drill at 11:00 a.m. on March 5, weather permitting. During this drill, NOAA Weather Radios will be activated, and Boone County's outdoor warning sirens will sound.
