Applications for the Boone County Senior Real Estate Tax Relief Program will be accepted starting Tuesday, April 1 for qualified individuals who did not apply for the program last year and reached the age of 62 prior to January 1, 2025. Eligible Boone County taxpayers who wish to participate in the program can apply between Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and Monday, June 30, 2025. Applications will be accepted until the close of business, 5:00 p.m., on June 30.

The National Weather Service St. Louis office has issued a Moderate Risk for severe weather across our region late this afternoon and evening. A fast-moving line of storms is expected, with the primary threat being damaging straight-line winds that could exceed 80 mph. Large hail and strong tornadoes (EF2+) are also possible.

The Boone County Office of Emergency Management (BCOEM) has announced that today's scheduled outdoor warning siren test is canceled due to a High Wind Warning issued by the National Weather Service. Although originally planned as part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week, BCOEM opted to cancel the test out of an abundance of caution. The next scheduled siren test will take place on April 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.
