What is Girls in Emergency Management (GEM) Camp?
GEM Camp is a FREE 5-day camp for young women interested in a career in emergency management, public safety, government, and more! Campers will learn about disaster preparedness, develop leadership skills, and meet leaders in government from local, state, and federal agencies.
What Can You Expect?
This 5-day camp will feature a full schedule packed with exciting activities, games, and guest speakers. Here is what you can expect to learn:

And (really good) food will be provided!
Important Dates
June 2nd - 6th: Boone County G.E.M. Camp will held at the Emergency Communications Center located at 2145 County Drive, Columbia, MO 65202.
April 19th: Submit GEM application by 11:59 p.m.
Eligibility
High school aged young women (in the 2025-2026 academic school year) who reside in Boone County.
