Performs professional governmental accounting and budgeting responsibilities including but not limited to preparing and approving entries to the general accounting ledger; reconciling accounts and ledgers; preparing, analyzing, and reviewing annual budgets; performing ongoing budget analysis and review throughout the year; preparing financial statements, schedules, and audit work papers; designing and performing financial analysis procedures; designing and performing testing and training materials associated with the County's ERP system; designing and performing various auditing procedures and programs. This position may also have responsibility for maintaining the County's fixed asset records and for performing budget tracking for various capital projects.

8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Upon completion of training, remote work may be occasionally permitted.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and a minimum of three years accounting experience, (five years experience for Accountant II) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient knowledge of spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel), word processing software (Microsoft Word), considerable knowledge of and experience with automated accounting systems. Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, governmental accounting standards is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as effective interpersonal skills; must possess critical thinking and advanced analytical skills; and be able to work independently without close supervision.
$23.66 - $39.19 per hour
