Works directly under the Stormwater Coordinator to identify and/or create educational and training materials for target audiences identified in the Stormwater Management Plan. Develop and implement innovative strategies to distribute the educational materials. Develop and conduct training for Boone County inspectors, private contractors, engineers, developers and other identified audiences. Develop newsletters, brochures, articles, public service announcements, and updates for the county website to advertise upcoming events and community stormwater issues such as ordinances, stormwater programs and training schedules. Participate in community events throughout the county. Assist in the completion of the annual report by documenting educational and public participation activities and county efforts. Assist with activities between the City of Columbia, County, University and other partner organizations. Actively promote and assist with the development of grant applications. Develop and implement educational components of various grant projects. Conduct Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and erosion and sediment control plan review. Meet with developers and businesses to assess Best Management Practices and educational needs. Conduct construction site inspections for compliance with county regulations.

Columbia, Missouri
College degree or a job related background in watershed science, physical, biological or chemical sciences, education or teaching. Experience in water quality or hydrology a plus. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to relate to and interact with a wide range of audiences. Outstanding presentation skills and self motivation required. Advanced computer skills, including website and database development and/or graphic design a plus.
