CONTROL ROOM OFFICER
DETENTION OPERATIONS

Responsibilities:

While working inside the Boone County Jail, the Control Room Officer:
Observes and documents detainee movement and/or events
Electronically operates doors
Communicates with detainees
Observes staff movement and interactions with detainees
Communicates with staff and the public through a variety of methods
Assists in ensuring the safety and security of the facility
Regular duties do not include unprotected face-to-face contact with detainees (i.e., interaction will be through secure windows, intercoms, kiosks, or other protective barriers)

Status: 

Full-time, non-exempt, benefited

Working hours: 

6:00 am to 6:00 pm AND 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. Must be able to work either shift at the department's discretion.

Location:

Columbia, Missouri

Qualifications: 

High school diploma or equivalent
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
No felony convictions.
Must pass a medical examination, psychological assessment, a pre-employment drug screen, and an FBI fingerprint background check

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: 

$18.70/hour. Potential for shift differential.
