CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR
RM ROAD INSPECTION

Responsibilities:

Performs on-site compliance inspections of County driveway and right of way permits. Also, responsible for on-site inspections of public civil construction projects as well as private developments to be accepted for County maintenance. Duties include maintaining inspection records, material verifications, quality control/workmanship inspections necessary to certify the work was completed according to the plans & specifications. Coordinating with other staff as needed in order to inspect, evaluate and document finding as it pertains to County owned assets, including roadway surfaces, bridges, culverts, and drainage systems as required and must be able to clearly communicate in both oral and written forms with Boone County residents and with contractors associated with public and private projects.

Status: 

Full-time, non-exempt, benefited

Working hours: 

7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday; (Some weekend work and after-hours work may be required)

Location:

Columbia, Missouri

Qualifications: 

Associate's degree in Construction, Engineering or Surveying or a related field and three years of experience in construction, engineering, or surveying; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Missouri driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: 

$20.41 - $25.51 per hour
