Responsible for staffing County Commission, including agenda preparation and legal notice posting; preparation of detailed minutes; drafting commission orders for approval; reviewing submitted materials for compliance with policies and statutes; and computerized indexing according to Missouri State Sunshine Law.
Monitor Commission actions for legal compliance and refer to supervisor or legal counsel.
Prepares records grant applications and administers records grants; maintains bid files; provides information and collects background documentation for press and public on Commission business.
Liaison with Commission office and staff-reports to the County Clerk, but regularly interacts and supports other elected officials.
Regularly use Microsoft Office for spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (Word), and microfilm reading and printing.
Provide backup support for office operation functions including licensing, notary processing, public information and referral, voter registration and elections.
Full-time, benefited, non-exempt
8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday; occasional evening meetings.
Columbia, Missouri
High School Diploma/GED required; some college education preferred.
2 years work experience in an office/administrative support role.
Strong writing and organizational skills and ability to work well with the public and press required.
Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
$14.82 - $15.75 per hour
