Boone County Commission to Host Additional Community Information and Listening Session Regarding ARPA Funding Distributions

March 2, 2023 – The Boone County Commission has announced the addition of a tenth Community Information and Listening Session regarding the distribution of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. This Community Information and Listening Session, which is open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, March 14, at 6:00 p.m. at Urban Empowerment, 2404 Industrial Drive in Columbia.

Previous sessions were hosted at various locations throughout Boone County between February 7 and February 28. These sessions offered community members the opportunity to share their comments and priorities for disbursement of ARPA funding with the Commissioners. The sessions also included presentations by the Boone County Commission regarding the application process, timeline, and disbursement schedule for ARPA Funding.

The Commission is now accepting applications from businesses and organizations for ARPA funding. The application can be found at https://www.showmeboone.com/commission/arpa.asp.  The first round of funding will allocate up to $15 million in ARPA funds. The application deadline for the first round of funding is set for 5 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023. Commission approval of applications from the first round of funding is expected by early June 2023.
