An eligible taxpayer is defined as a Boone County, Missouri, resident who fulfills the following requirements:
- Is sixty-two (62) years of age or older before January 1 of the initial credit year.
- Is an owner of record of their primary residence or has a legal or equitable interest in such primary residence as evidenced by a written instrument.
- Is liable for the payment of real property taxes on such homestead.
Taxpayers who were approved for the 2024 base year were mailed a renewal application in early March. The renewal application must be signed and returned to the Collector's office by June 30, 2025, to remain in the real estate tax relief program. The renewal application does not need to be notarized.
