Boone County Children's Services Board Approves Over $9.1 Million in Funding for Local Programs
COLUMBIA, Mo. (January 7, 2025) - The Boone County Children’s Services Board (BCCSB) has approved a total of $9,171,811.57 in funding for 50 proposals across 40 organizations. This funding will support initiatives aimed at promoting the well-being of children, youth, and families in Boone County.
The 2024 Open Request for Proposal (RFP) was released on May 14, 2024 and the BCCSB approving the final funding decisions in December. The RFP’s Purpose Statement and Proposal Expectations emphasized the BCCSB's commitment to investing in programs that utilize effective, multifaceted strategies to enhance the lives of children, youth, and families. Proposals were accepted for any statutorily eligible service area, allowing for both the renewal of existing programs and the introduction of new initiatives.
“This funding reflects our dedication to supporting programs that make a tangible difference in the lives of Boone County residents,” said Leigh Spence, Chair of the Boone County Children’s Services Board. “We are excited to partner with these organizations to create meaningful impacts in our community.”
The initial contract term for approved programs begins January 1, 2025, and extends through December 31, 2025, with the option for two additional one-year renewals.
