Boone County Government Offices and Departments to Close at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024; Courthouse to Remain Open
January 11, 2024—Due to inclement weather and dangerous travel conditions forecast for Friday, January 12, 2024, all non-essential Boone County Government offices and departments will close at 2:00 p.m. All non-essential meetings previously scheduled to occur at Boone County buildings after 2:00 p.m. on January 12 will be canceled. The Boone County Courthouse will remain open, and all court activity will occur as scheduled. Offices and departments are expected to reopen on Tuesday, January 16, following the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
Boone County’s Office of Emergency Management (BCOEM) encourages residents to stay indoors and take extra precautions when traveling or while outside during inclement weather and extremely cold temperatures. Residents are encouraged to be prepared, stay informed and have a plan to keep themselves and their loved ones safe, whether at home or on the road. Residents are reminded not to call 9-1-1 unless there is an actual emergency occurring. For non-emergencies, call 3-1-1.
