Boone County Commission Announces County Will No Longer Pursue TIF Litigation

Boone County will not pursue further review of the recent appellate decision from the Missouri Court of Appeals - Western District.
"There are some legal issues with aspects of the court's decision, but we've directed County Counselor C.J. Dykhouse to allow the judgment of the court to become final and to no longer pursue the litigation," said Presiding Commissioner Dan Atwill.
The County Commission believes that not continuing appellate litigation on the TIF issue is appropriate and will facilitate and enhance further cooperation and communication with the City of Columbia on shared concerns, including the protection of essential revenue streams to all taxing entities and collaboration on necessary infrastructure investments.
Presiding Commissioner Atwill expressed optimism about existing and future levels of cooperation between the County and the City saying, "We cooperate every day at many different levels of government, and I look forward to continuing and expanding those efforts."
