BCJC Achieves 3rd Accreditation
December 14, 2015
The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) has announced Boone County Joint Communications as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) in Police Dispatch. Joint Communications is only the 9th dispatch agency in the world to receive such an accreditation.
"This honor comes with an immense amount of pride," said Joint Communications Director Chad Martin. "This is a reflection of the dedication and hard work exemplified by our personnel. It also recognizes them for what they do every day, in providing prompt, professional, and compassionate service for the residents of Boone County."
Martin also thanked Boone County's response agencies for their role in the accreditation, noting their input, review and approval of protocol and policies that resulted in the distinction.
Joint Communications received accreditation for Emergency Fire Dispatch in 2013 and Emergency Medical Dispatch in 2014. The third accreditation in Emergency Police Dispatch makes Boone County Joint Communications the 5th current Tri-ACE agency in the world, a moniker given to agencies that simultaneously achieve accreditations in police, fire and emergency medical dispatch.
The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch is a non-profit, standard-setting organization promoting safe and effective emergency dispatch services worldwide and comprised of four allied academies for medical, fire, and police dispatching and emergency communication nurses.
