Boone County Treasurer Nicole Galloway Named One of Columbia Business Times' 20 Under 40

January 26, 2015

Boone County is proud to announce the selection of Treasurer Nicole Galloway as one of Columbia Business Times' 20 Under 40 Class of 2015, presented by Stephens College. Recipients of this award are young professionals between the ages of 21 and 39 who are selected based on their success in their chosen field, mentorship of others and leadership in the community.

Treasurer Galloway took office in April 2011 and was then elected into office in November 2012. Her duties as Treasurer include managing a $55 million investment portfolio and ensuring it is invested safely and securely, that investments meet the liquidity necessary for the county's cash flow needs and that investments achieve the best return possible. She also issues all general obligation and revenue bonds, administer banking services and manage unclaimed property for the county. As a member of county committees and statewide boards and commissions, she also provides oversight for several financial and non-financial projects. Treasurer Galloway's ability to approach challenges with intelligence and innovation has benefited not only Boone County but also other counties. Most recently, she implemented a debt management policy to increase transparency for the process of issuing and managing the county's debt which has now become a model for other local governments across the state.

In addition to her work as Boone County Treasurer, Nicole's community involvement also made her an ideal choice for the 20 Under 40 Class of 2015. She is an active member of Columbia Metro Rotary and participates in the Partners in Education program. She is also a board member for the Heart of Missouri United Way, and serves on boards for statewide organizations, such as the Missouri Technology Corporation and County Employee Retirement Fund.

Treasurer Galloway and the 2015 Class of Columbia Business Times' 20 Under 40 were celebrated at a gala on January 22, 2015 in Kimball Ballroom at Stephens College.
