County Public Information Office Provides Speakers for Community Meetings
February 9, 2010
To provide citizens with well-informed speakers and more information about county government, the Public Information Office has launched the Boone County Speaker's Bureau.
The Speaker's Bureau is an opportunity for civic groups, clubs, organizations, homeowner's associations, schools or senior groups to invite county elected officials and staff to speak at their meetings. There are a variety of topics to choose from, and topics may be tailored to meet specific needs.
To schedule a speaker, citizens can call the Office of Public Information at 573-886-4312 Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Assistance will be provided to choose a topic that will be most beneficial for a particular group. Speakers must be requested at least two weeks in advance.
"This is an excellent opportunity for the elected officials and staff of Boone County Government to get out into the community, interact with citizens and share their expertise with interested groups," said Boone County Public Information Officer Porcshe Moran. "We encourage community organizations to schedule a speaker from the County for their meetings and events."
