Things you may have missed...

Commission Fills Vacant Hospital Board Position

On Thursday, the Boone County Commission appointed Robert Wagner to the open seat on the Boone County Hospital Board of Trustees. Wagner, the retiring president and chief executive of Columbia Insurance Group, was selected out of 10 candidates. Wagner will serve until the April election, when voters will elect someone to serve the final two years of the term. Wagner's first meeting on the board will be Monday, June 21.

Commission Opens Bids on Two Construction Projects

On Thursday, the County Commission opened bids for Tomlin Hill Road and the Pecos Court Storm Water Project. The bids will be reviewed by the Purchasing Department and awarded at an upcoming commission meeting.

Public Meeting for East Area Plan

The City of Columbia and Boone County Planning and Zoning Commissions will host the fourth in a series of public information meetings regarding the East Area Plan (EAP) June 29, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Columbia Benevolent Organization's Meeting Hall located inside the Elk's Lodge, 4747 Elk Park Drive East (east of Cedar Grove Elementary School off Route WW). The meeting will include two open Q&A sessions and a presentation.
