Boone County is dedicated to protecting water quality in our natural streams and waterways. Stormwater Outreach and Education focuses on building support from local residents and businesses in preserving water quality and the environment. As stormwater runoff flows through a watershed, it picks up pollutants that may cause serious damage to a stream ecosystem. Many of these pollutants can be safely removed with good stormwater management practices. Boone County is working to provide you with the latest information on water quality, encourage you to use our online tools in your own backyard, and to introduce you to other resources available to you, your neighborhood, and community.
The Boone County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold at least three (3) public hearings to review and hear comments on the proposed stream buffer ordinance. The P&Z Commission will then prepare a recommendation to the County Commission.
The third public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23rd, at 7:00 pm at the Boone County Fire District Station 3, 400 Rte B, Hallsville, MO.
There will be additional hearings scheduled later for both the Northern and Southern Districts.
