Responsibilities:

Accepts and processes applications for Conceal Carry Permits, performs fingerprinting of applicants, conducts written and verbal communication with applicants, runs criminal histories utilizing the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES), prepares files and documentation; enters incident, accident, citations, and arrest records into the Sheriffs Department records software system; prepares computerized reports for the Prosecuting Attorneys Office and other law enforcement agencies; responds to Sunshine Law open records requests and prepares statistical reports for local and state agencies; archives reports.

Monday-Friday 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M.

Qualifications: 

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Must be 21 years of age or older.
* Possess a valid operator's license at time of application and a valid Missouri operator's license at time of appointment.
* Type a minimum of 35 wpm.
* Visual acuity of at least 20/200 correctable to 20/20 in both eyes.
* Pass a pre-employment drug screen prior to appointment.
* Possess two years of clerical experience in an automated office environment; working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs.
* No felony convictions.
* Have not pled guilty to or have any other criminal convictions in the past 2 years, excluding traffic violations.
* No marijuana use or possession in the past 2 years and no other illegal drug use or possession in the past 5 years.
* Applicant must meet minimum qualifications set forth by the FBI and MSHP CJIS Security policy.
* No employee, while on duty, shall have visible tattoos, body brandings, body, facial or tongue piercing jewelry, with the exception of traditional ear piercings for female employees. Ear lobe stretching (also known as 'gauging') is prohibited. Tattoos, brands, and body piercings must be completely covered by either the department uniform or civilian clothing, depending upon the employee's assignment. Employees should be cognizant of potential safety hazards in wearing jewelry. Uniformed personnel whose tattoos extend below a short-sleeve uniform shirt, must wear the long-sleeve uniform shirt. Flesh-tone wraps, sleeves, band-aids, chemical covers and products such as Hide-Ink are prohibited as an alternative to coverage by clothing or uniform.

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: 

$13.65 $14.50/hr.
