Hinkson Creek CAM Progress Report to be Presented to Officials from EPA, Missouri Department of Natural Resources
July 3, 2014
At 5:00PM on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, members of the Hinkson Creek Collaborative Adaptive Management (CAM) Stakeholder Committee will present their progress report to the Environmental Protection Agency and Missouri Department of Natural Resources at the 3M Flat Branch -Hinkson Creek Wetlands Pavilion in Columbia. It is anticipated that the Region 7 EPA Administrator, Karl Brooks, an EPA Headquarters Office of Water official and MDNR Director, Sara Parker Pauley will be on hand to accept the report. Members of the CAM Stakeholder committee and County Commissioner Karen Miller, City of Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid and University of Missouri's Interim Vice Chancellor for Operations Gary Ward, along with other officials from the partners will be presenting the report.
The CAM process is the result of an innovative, cooperative partnership between federal, state, county, city and University of Missouri officials focused on using adaptive methods to implement a pollutant reduction plan to improve Hinkson Creek's water quality. The Hinkson CAM process has been underway for approximately two years. The progress report summarizes the accomplishments of the CAM process from 2012 and 2013. The 3M Flat Branch - Hinkson Creek Wetlands is an opportunity for the partners to see in action the collaborative stormwater effort that the County, City and University of Missouri and community are putting toward improving water quality of the Hinkson Creek.
