    Fields that start with CNTY -- created by the Boone County GIS Department for its internal uses. Fields that start with FE -- field naming convention carried over from 911's CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) system. The field FENAME contains the entire name of the road as it is stored in the CAD system.

Why was the data set created?

Developed to have one comprehensive roads layer for Boone County. Also to aid in the creation of a master address file and the Address points layer. Also used in the 911 system to aid in emergency response.
