Why was the data set created?

Two .dbf image catalog files (one for 100-scale images, and one for 200-scale images) were originally created to automatically access the necessary tiffs based on a desired area of interest (geographic extent). This mosaic was created to provide a seamless county-wide orthophoto image, to make it simpler to access (one file instead of two) the necessary aerial photography for a desired geographic extent. This format also draws much faster than accessing the individual tiffs through the .dbf catalog files.
